A regular problem and enquiry is about foxes living under decking. One of the most important jobs during the installation is to make sure that the decking is adequately proofed around the bottom, although a persistant fox will dig itself in.

By having foxes living underneath garden decking runs several un-thought of risks:

  • If a fox is injured by a vehicle or by fighting, it could crawl back under the decking and die, resulting in foul, long lasting odours and blue bottle flies.

  • Fleas and other insects will be encourages to breed.

  • Unacceptable noises at night-time causing disturbances.

  • Unseen digging, possibly under the property attached to the decking.
