URBAN FOX CONTROL IN SCHOOLS
Tweet
Most School Site Manager's and Head Teacher's that
ask me for help are mainly concerned with the
persistent fox fouling & urination on the school's
playground, classroom
entrances and pavements as well as causing damage to
plants, folliage and the digging holes on the sports
pitches.
Other call-outs include foxes gaining entry into or under
buildings and the constant presence of foxes during the
day; preventing children going outside.
I have attended school's where foxes managed to access the
roof voids directly above classrooms.
Children should always be encouraged to wash their hands.
Immatured hygiene displayed by some children may be a
cause for concern if foxes are active around the school.
'Hand in mouth' is common behaviour amongst young
children.
This immature hygiene is a genuine cause for concern if
foxes are regularly present.
Some school staff express concerns over the close
proximity foxes get to the children whilst out playing
during breaktimes.
Moving foxes from one area to another is not appropriate in
terms of disease management or considered humane.
